Back-2-School Support Workers

Currently we are seeking individuals residing within the following communities and/or surrounding area:

There are opportunities to branch out within the organization into additional positions and programs. Primary roles of the successful candidate will be to promote academic and literacy components of the students, assist in supervision of the students by ensuring they attend all scheduled activities and routines, as well as supporting the students in learning life-skills. The successful candidate(s) may provide support to more than one student at a time. Currently we are seeking candidates who would work within Day Care, Kindergarten and Elementary grades to support clients throughout their day as one-to-one support workers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with the school-based team, the parents, and the Family Ties Association team in coordinating support, resources and promoting growth and development. This individual will have a commitment to attend professional development seminars and individualized support planning development meetings.

The successful candidate will report to a Program Supervisor as well as an on-site supervisor to collaborate on the needs of the students and promote a plan to increase skill building and participation. As an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, you will add your family focused, and strength-based skills towards fostering the healthy development of children and families.

The ideal candidate will:

A competitive remuneration package is available, including an hourly rate and eligibility for benefits dependent on successful completion of the Probationary period and a minimum average of 20 hours/week. Candidates should have a degree/diploma and/or experience in the Human Service or Education Field.

Candidates must have:

Preferred candidates will have knowledge and experience working within Indigenous communities and ability to provide support to Blood Tribe Communities. Knowledge of and ability to communicate in Blackfoot is an asset to these roles.

Current First Aid Certification is considered an asset
