Family Ties Association offers individual and family therapy to parents, teens, children and families with the goal of processing and healing from adverse childhood experiences that have impacted their development. Supporting individuals to heal issues and difficulties surrounding grief and loss, creating independence and lifelong family health continue to be areas our clinical team is committed to. All treatment is individualized, healing centered, and trauma informed, recognizing that all adults, children and youth, along with their families have strengths to build upon. Our team recognize that Indigenous adults, children and youth have a unique identity and cultural connection that is vital to support and foster.
The delivery of counselling sessions can be in a variety of forms to accommodate the needs of the individual or family. Clinical staff with meet with individuals to determine if in-office or tele or video conference appointments would best meet their needs.

Hello, my name is Caitlin Stevens I am a Registered Psychologist with the college of Alberta Psychologists and I am excited to be collaborating with individuals and families at Family Ties Association and helping people meet their needs.
My areas of practice include working with adults, adolescents, and children in areas of trauma, grief and loss, relational trauma, anxiety, depression, and interpersonal difficulties. I am trained in EMDR as well as integrating EMDR with children and adolescents. I have training from Rocky Mountain Play Therapy Centre in Play-Based Treatment of Trauma.
In my practice I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, such as EMDR, directive and non-directive Play Therapy, Dealectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, Somatic/body-centered approaches, and Expressive Arts Therapy.

Amy is a Registered Psychologist who works with children, youth and adults. Amy does individual, group, couples and family therapy, using a trauma-informed, client centered approach using various modalities to best meet the needs of the client including EMDR, DBT and CBT. She especially enjoys incorporating art therapy and narrative therapy into her sessions.
Some areas of special interest include parenting, self-harm, ADHD, Autism, betrayal trauma, LGBTQ issues and spiritual exploration in relation to mental health.
Amy is a trainer in Mental Health First Aid for Adults who Interact with Youth. She also completes various assessments including parenting, executive functioning, cognitive functioning, trauma-impact and mental health assessments.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys being a mom to two teenage children. She also loves reading, writing, art and running.

Hi, I’m Chelsie and I have been working at Family Ties Association in the clinical team since 2013 and in this time, I have worked closely with my team members to create a safe, accessible and professional space where the people that we serve will benefit from exceptional service.
I pride myself in my commitment to creating a safe space and practices from an anti-oppressive, client centered, trauma informed lens, that values dignity, diversity, and self-empowerment. My educational and clinical experience has included a strong focus on trauma and therefore I work with individuals to overcome individual, societal, and systemic factors to enable growth and healing.
I approach counselling using tenants of Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, Somatic and compassionate inquiry focusing on self-healing and therapeutic approaches to care. I work with older children and adolescents as well as adults and their support systems. The individuals I serve often present with trauma, depression, anxiety, high-risk youth, domestic violence, and parent-teen conflict.

Hello, my name is Sabina Ross and I am a Registered Social Worker with a Masters of Social Work with a specialization in trauma. I believe that through my social work lens I am able to take a holistic approach to providing support and counselling to any person seeking support. While working together, I will take a client centered and trauma informed approach focused on building a safe and caring relationship together.
My therapeutic approach incorporates attachment focused, strengths based, systems approach, mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment Focused EMDR, and Sensory Motor Psychotherapy (Body Centered Therapy). Areas that I am able to support people in is emotional dysregulation, identity, trauma, interpersonal relationships, attachment, stress, anxiety, and depression. The age range I am able to see is 15+.

Welcome! I’m Sandra, a Registered Clinical Social Worker with a master’s degree in social work. Since 2007, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, families, and youth to navigate life’s challenges and achieve emotional well-being.
My approach is rooted in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), both evidence-based practices known to effectively address a range of issues. I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered. Together, we will identify your strengths and build upon them while incorporating practical skills to help you on your healing journey.
My background is working with people experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, eating disorders, and addictions; I am here to support you. I’m also continuously expanding my expertise through learning new approaches, which I’m excited to bring into my practice.

Hello! My name is Mikaela Grigg, and I am part of the clinical team here at Family Ties. I have my master’s degree in clinical social work and have gone on to complete additional specialized training in trauma treatment, therapeutic play, and attachment-based therapies, including my Parent-Child Attachment Specialist Certification from the Agate Institute. Some of my areas of practice include trauma, grief and loss, attachment, parenting challenges, anxiety, depression, identity, and interpersonal relationships. I provide counselling services for children (3+), teens and adults.
I utilize variety of evidence-based approaches, such as EMDR, Directive and Non-directive Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused and Somatic/Body based therapies. Hello! My name is Kyle, and I am currently a Registered Provisional Psychologist. My passion lies in creating a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore, grow, and navigate life’s challenges. I embrace a relational-eclectic approach to therapy, understanding that each person is a unique individual who has their own needs, while also understanding that every person can be seen as a system of the relationships they live within. While I have a generalist approach, I love working with life transitions, self-discovery, personal growth, and simply supporting people however they need. Outside of counselling, I love working with children and adolescents. I volunteer in community sport within Lethbridge, and I work within the foster care system. I am a big dog person, and I love to spend my free time longboarding, playing videogames, and with people I love.
