Job Posting: Counsellor

Position Overview:

Working from an anti-oppressive, strength based and trauma informed theory the successful candidate will provide counselling services to individuals (children, youth and adults), couples and families that represent a wide-range of issues.  Areas of need may include but not be limited to – trauma, high risk youth, domestic violence, mental health and addiction, child abuse and interpersonal conflict.  Preference will be given to candidates who are well versed in and able to connect with various cultures in addition to those who have a knowledge of the Child Protection System.

*This is a causal position in which hours will be discussed*

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Provide individual, couples and family counselling to a diverse caseload of clients.
Ensure compliance with agency standards and practices regarding client services and record keeping.
Consult appropriately with clinical supervisor.
Qualifications:

A degree in Psychology, Social Work, or relevant discipline; preference will be given to those registered with a professional association.
Preference will be given to candidates with clinical experience (2 years).
The successful candidate will be required to provide a current Police Information Check and Child Information Check.
